An -ός (-ós, deverbal adjective suffix) adjective from Proto-Indo-European *wreyḱ- (to twist, weave, bind). Cognate with Latin rīca (veil), English wry, German reihen (to crimp) and Ancient Greek ῥικνός (rhiknós, bent, crooked).
