From Proto-Indo-European *senH- (to seek, accomplish, work on, succeed). Cognate with Sanskrit सन् (san, to gain, acquire, be successful), as well as perhaps Hittite [script needed] (sanh-, to intend; to strive for; to seek). See also αὐθέντης (authéntēs).[1]
