[edit]From Proto-Indo-European *senH- (“to seek, accomplish, work on, succeed”). Cognate with Sanskrit सन् (san, “to gain, acquire, be successful”), as well as perhaps Hittite [script needed] (sanh-, “to intend; to strive for; to seek”). See also αὐθέντης (authéntēs).[1]
