Etymology
[edit]Cognate with Nupe ègwa, Igala ìga, Urhobo ọriọka, Edo akha, and Idoma àga. Proposed to be derived from Proto-Yoruboid *V̀-ga. Blench (2007) proposed a tentative reconstruction to Proto-Niger-Congo *-ga.
