[edit]From Proto-Semitic *ṣ́arrat- (“co-wife”). Equivalent to 𒈲𒊒𒌝 (ṣerrum, “enmity”) + -𒂊𒌈 (-etum, feminine suffix). Cognate with Arabic ضَرَّة (ḍarra) and Biblical Hebrew צָרָה (ṣɔrɔ).
