[edit]- ᚠᚨᛁᚺᛁᛞᛟ (faihido /faihidō/)
Etymology
[edit]From earlier ᚠᚨᛁᚺᛁᛞᛟ (faihido /faihidō/), from Proto-Germanic *faihidǭ, first-person singular past indicative of *faihijaną (“to paint”). The development of aih to āh brings the word one step closer to the Old Icelandic fáða.
