[edit]Borrowed from Ottoman Turkish چوروك آی (çürük ay, literally “month of decay”), whence also dialectal (Black Sea) Turkish çürük ay, Laz ჩურუღაჲი (çuruğayi), Hamshen Armenian չուրուխ (čʻurux).
