Georgian
[edit]Etymology
[edit]As pointed out by Ačaṙean, borrowed from Armenian սի՛սիր (sísir), the regular Tbilisi dialect descendant of Old Armenian սիսեռն (siseṙn).
Čubinov and the Explanatory Dictionary of the Georgian language compared with Latin cicer, but this cannot be the direct source of the Georgian word due to phonological and chronological reasons. Nevertheless, the Latin word is connected with Armenian սիսեռն (siseṙn).
Pronunciation
[edit]Noun
[edit]სისირი • (sisiri) (plural სისირები)
