Etymology

From ი- (i-) +‎ ნჯირ- (ncir-, “to sleep”) +‎ -ს (-s), Inherited from Proto-Georgian-Zan *ʒ₁in- (“to sleep, fall asleep”), contamined with the related ნჯირი (nciri).

Usage notes

• In Central and Eastern dialects, one verb is used for the "to lie" and "to sleep", but in Western dialects, these two meanings expressed with two verb: დიჯინენ (dicinen, “to lie”) and ინჯირს (incirs, “to sleep”).
