Etymology

From *ბორბ-უ (*borb-u), from Proto-Georgian-Zan *barb-.[1][2] Cognate with Mingrelian ბურბუ (burbu, bat) and obsolete Georgian ბრბუნვა (brbunva, blind groping).[3]
