[edit]Learned borrowing from Sanskrit प्रासाद (prāsāda, “palace”). Cognate with Khmer ប្រាសាទ (praasaat), Lao ຜາສາດ (phā sāt), Thai ปราสาท (bpraa-sàat), Mon ပြါသာတ်.
