Particularly: “Not given etymology by STEDT (câñ "boundary line, fence"). Luce gives Old Chinese 穧 (OC *ʔsleds, *ʔsliːls, *zliːls, “sheaf”), which is semantically feasible, but phonetically unconvincing based on Zhengzhang's Old Chinese reconstruction.[1] Note semantic similarities to စဉ် (cany, “to line up, arrange”).”
