From Proto-Lolo-Burmese *k(r/y)aw ~ *kh(r/y)aw ~ *k(h)ləw (“to break, snap (a stick)”), though STEDT does not link the root to any Burmese entries and adduces no further cognates, nor is it mentioned by Luce 1981.
