- A letter of the Thai alphabet; it is usually regarded as a vowel.
Usage notes
[edit]The letter ฤๅ is not normally listed in the Thai consonants. If it is listed, it appears between ฤ (rʉ́) and archaic ฦ (lʉ́) in the alphabetical order. When spelled in words, ฤๅ can be pronounced as /rɯː/ or /riː/. Due to encoding, the letter ฤๅ consists of two glyphes, "ฤ" and "ๅ". This often makes people incorrectly use "า" (short-tailed aa) in place of "ๅ" (long-tailed aa).
