Etymology
[edit]Semi-learned borrowing from English curry puff. Compare Malay karipap.
The template Template:rfe does not use the parameter(s):Is this etymology researched or just a result of assumptions? A [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5XdY1NQqNY recent video on the history and origins of curry puffs in Thailand by OTR] has more than one place where Thai people say they used to have a slightly different name. It seems to me the second part was reanalyzed into "puff" in English and Thai later adopted that change. OK found it. Apparently it was originally [[กะหรี่พับ]] where [[พับ]] means [[fold]]Please see Module:checkparams for help with this warning.
