Inherited from Middle Gujarati विहानउ (vihānaü), from Old Gujarati विहाणइ (vihāṇaï), from Prakrit 𑀯𑀺𑀪𑀸𑀬𑀦𑀁 (vibhāyanaṃ), from Sanskrit *विभान (vibhāna). Cognate with Assamese বিহান (bihan), Bengali বিহান (bihan), Nepali बियान (biyān), and Sindhi وِهاڻيِ (vihāṇī).
