Borrowed from Classical Persian یونان (yūnān), from Old Persian 𐎹𐎢𐎴 (y-u-n /⁠yauna⁠/, Ionia), from Ancient Greek Ἰωνία (Iōnía, Ionia). Doublet of યવન (yavan).
