[edit]Inherited from Prakrit 𑀖𑀽𑀅 (ghūa) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀟- (-ḍa-), from Sanskrit ઘૂક (ghūka), from Dravidian. Doublet of ઘૂક (ghūk). Cognate to Marathi घुबड (ghubaḍ).
