[edit]Inherited from Prakrit 𑀪𑀺𑀓𑁆𑀔𑀸 (bhikkhā), from Sanskrit भिक्षा (bhikṣā́). Cognate with Gujarati ભીખ (bhīkh), Hindi भीख (bhīkh), भीक (bhīk), Urdu بِھیک (bhīk), Sindhi بِيکَ / बीख, Marathi भीक (bhīk), Nepali भिख (bhikh), Maithili भीख (bhīkh) / 𑒦𑒲𑒐 (bhīkha), Odia ଭିକ (bhika), ଭିଖ (bhikha), Bengali ভিখ (bhikh), Sinhalese බික් (bik).
