[edit]Noun
[edit]ਦਾ • (dā) m (Shahmukhi spelling دا)
Etymology 2
[edit]Possibly derived from Sanskrit कृत (kṛta), through a Prakrit form like Sauraseni 𑀓𑀤 (kada). Turner instead proposes an etymology from Old Punjabi ਸੰਦਾ (sandā, “genitive postposition”), from Sanskrit सन्तक (santaka, “belong to”). Compare Hindi का (kā).
