[edit]Ultimately from Sanskrit चक्र (cakrá), from Proto-Indo-Aryan *ćakrám, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *čakrám, from Proto-Indo-European *kʷékʷlos (“circle, wheel”). Cognate with English cycle. Doublet of ਚੱਕਾ (cakkā) and ਚੱਕ (cakka).
