[edit]Inherited from Sanskrit संध्या (saṃdhyā, “twilight”). Cognate with Sylheti ꠢꠣꠁꠘ꠆ꠎꠣ (hainza), Assamese সাঁজ (xãz), and Hindi साँझ (sāñjh). Doublet of সন্ধ্যা (śonddha).
