Doublet of রুদ্র (rudro), রোয়া (rōẇa, to weep, cry, lament), and রোদ্দুর (rōddur), an ardhatatsama. Cognate with Assamese ৰ’দ (röd) and Sylheti ꠞꠂꠖ (roido).
