Inherited from Sanskrit मूत्रयति (mūtrayati). First attested 16th c. as Middle Bengali মূতা (muta). Compare Assamese মূতা (muta), Sylheti ꠝꠥꠔꠣ (muta), Hindustani मूतना / موتنا (mūtnā), Gujarati મૂતરવું (mūtarvũ), Romani mutrel, Marathi मुतणे (mutṇe).
