Inherited from Apabhramsa भुक्खा (bhukkhā), from Prakrit 𑀪𑀼𑀓𑁆𑀔𑀸 (bhukkhā), 𑀩𑀼𑀳𑀼𑀓𑁆𑀔𑀸 (buhukkhā), 𑀩𑀼𑀪𑀼𑀓𑁆𑀔𑀸 (bubhukkhā), from Sanskrit बुभुक्षा (bubhukṣā).
