[edit]Inherited from Sanskrit ফিঙ্গক (phiṅgaka), diminutive of *ফিঙ্গ (phiṅga), from Proto-Indo-European *(s)pingos (“chaffinch”). Cognate with Bengali ফিঙে (phiṅe, “drongo”), Hindi फिंगा (phiṅgā).
