From Sanskrit খঙ্গ (khaṅga, “sword, rhinoceros”). Cognate with Middle Bengali খঙ্গ (khoṅgo, “anger, sword, scimitar, sacrificial knife, horn of a rhinoceros”).

   mörose burilo jogotore bhoila roṅgo , ehi buli rawoṇoro uṭhi goila khoṅgo .

   Only mine was sunk but the world had happiness, saying this Ravana's anger raised/started.
