[edit]Inherited from Prakrit *हिमआलिअ (himaālia), from Sanskrit हिम (hima, “cold; frost; snow; winter”) + काल (kālá, “time; season”) + -इक (-ika, relational suffix).[1] By surface analysis, हिवाळा (hivāḷā) + -ई (-ī, relational suffix).
