[edit]From स्वीकार (svīkār) + -णे (-ṇe) by analogy with Sanskrit स्वीकरोति (svīkaroti). First attested as Old Marathi 𑘭𑘿𑘪𑘲𑘎𑘨𑘜𑘹 (svīkaraṇe).
