Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘭𑘰𑘽𑘓𑘜𑘹 (sāṃcaṇe), 𑘭𑘰𑘭𑘜𑘹 (sāsaṇe) (compare Maharastri Prakrit 𑀲𑀁𑀘𑀺𑀡𑀇 (saṃciṇaï), Sanskrit संचय (saṃcaya), चययति (cayayati), सञ्चिनोति (sañcinoti)). Compare Gujarati સાંચવું (sā̃cvũ), Hindustani سَنچْنَا / संचना (sañcnā), Nepali साँच्नु (sā̃cnu), Maithili सञ्चब (sañcab) / 𑒮𑒘𑓂𑒔𑒥 (sañcaba, “to gather”), Odia ସଞ୍ଚିବା (sañcibā), ଛଞ୍ଚିବା (chañcibā).
