Etymology
[edit]From Proto-Indo-Iranian *sarwátaHts (“totality, wholeness, completeness”), from Proto-Indo-European *solh₂-wó-teh₂ts (“wholeness, completeness, totality”). Cognate with Avestan 𐬵𐬀𐬎𐬭𐬎𐬎𐬀𐬙𐬁𐬝 (hauruuatāt̰, “wholeness, totality, completeness”), Ancient Greek ὁλότης (holótēs, “wholeness, completeness, totality”).
