[edit]Inherited from Sanskrit विवाहिन् (vivāhin) (compare Old Marathi 𑘪𑘲𑘪𑘰𑘮𑘻 (vīvāho)). Related to विहीण (vihīṇ, “son's or daughter's mother-in-law”). Cognate with Bengali বিয়াই (biẏai).
