Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘪𑘰𑘨𑘰 (vārā), 𑘪𑘰𑘨𑘹𑘽 (vāreṃ), from Sanskrit वातर (vātara) (see वात (vā́ta)). Compare Gujarati વાયરો (vāyaro), Sindhi وَرَائِڻُ / वराइणु (varāiṇu).
