- c. 1200 BCE – 800 BCE, Kṛṣṇa-Yajurveda (Taittirīya Saṃhitā) I.8.18.4:
- सद्यो दीक्षयन्ति। सद्यः सोमं क्रीणन्ति। पुण्डरिस्रजां प्रयच्छति। दशभिर् वत्सतरैः सोमं क्रीणाति। दशपेयो भवति। शतं ब्राह्मणाः पिबन्ति।
- sadyó dīkṣayanti. sadyáḥ sómaṃ krīṇanti. puṇḍarisrajā́m prá yachati. daśábhir vatsataraíḥ sómaṃ krīṇāti. daśapéyo bhavati. śatám brāmaṇā́ḥ pibanti.
- On the same day they consecrate, on the same day they buy the Soma. He presents a lotus wreath. He buys the Soma with ten young bulls. [Thus] the Daśapeya libation [is arranged]. A hundred Brahmans drink [it].
