[edit]Inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀮𑀢𑁆𑀢𑀸 (lattā). Related to लताड़ना (latāṛnā). Cognate with Maithili लात (lāt) / 𑒪𑒰𑒞 (lāta), Punjabi ਲੱਤ (latta) / لَتّ (latt), Sindhi لَتَ / लत, Gujarati લાત (lāt), Marathi लाथ (lāth), Bengali লাথি (lathi), Assamese লাথ (lath).
