Etymology
[edit]From मृत् (mṛt), from Proto-Indo-Aryan *mŕ̥ts, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *mŕ̥ts, from Proto-Indo-European *mĺ̥dʰ-s. Cognate with Ancient Greek μάλθη (málthē), Old English molde (whence English mold).
