Etymology
[edit]From मृणालिन् (mṛṇālin, “a lotus”), from मृणाल (mṛṇāla, “the film or fibres attached to the stalk of a lotus”), from मृण् (mṛṇ, “to kill, hurt, injure, crush, smash, slay”), from the root मृ (mṛ, “to die, decease, hurt, kill”). Ultimately Inherited from Proto-Indo-European *mer- (“to die”).
