[edit]Borrowed from Classical Persian مرحوم (marhūm), from Arabic مَرْحُوم (marḥūm). Compare Punjabi ਮਰਹੂਮ (marhūm) / مَرحُوم (marḥūm), Gujarati મરહૂમ (marhūm), Sindhi مَرَحُومُ / मरहूम, Bengali মরহুম (morhum).
