[edit]Borrowed from Classical Persian مغز (mağz), from Middle Persian [script needed] (mzg /mazg/), from Proto-Indo-Iranian *mazǰʰā́. Doublet of भेजा (bhejā). Cognate of Assamese মগজু (mogozu), Bengali মগজ (mogoj), English marrow.
