[edit]Inherited from Old Marathi भुंकणे (bhuṃkaṇe), from Maharastri Prakrit 𑀪𑀼𑀓𑁆𑀓𑀇 (bhukkaï), from Sanskrit बुक्कति (bukkati). Compare Hindi भौंकना (bha͠uknā), Assamese ভুকা (bhuka).
