Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘥𑘰𑘌𑘽𑘚 (bhāoṃḍa), from 𑘥𑘰𑘪𑘽𑘚 (bhāvaṃḍa), from Prakrit 𑀪𑀸𑀇𑀳𑀁𑀟 (bhāihaṃḍa), from Sanskrit भ्रातृभाण्ड (bhrātṛbhāṇḍa).
