[edit]Borrowed from Classical Persian پوشِیدَگِی (pōšīdagī).[1] By surface analysis, पोशीदा (pośīdā) + -गी (-gī). First attested in c. 1799 as Middle Hindi پوشِیدَگِی (pvśydgy).[2]
