[edit]Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘢𑘚𑘪𑘯 (paḍavaḷa), from Maharastri Prakrit 𑀧𑀟𑁄𑀮 (paḍola), 𑀧𑀑𑀮 (paola), from Sanskrit पटोल (paṭola), ultimately from Dravidian. Cognate with Hindustani परवल (parval) / پَرْوَل (parval).
