- a cloudburst

- त्रठ पॆयि च़ॆ कलस पॆठ! ― traṭh peyi tse kalas peṭh! ― May lightning fall upon your head! (A common Kashmiri way of berating)
- स्व छॆ त्रठ हिश। / सु छु त्रठ ह्युव। ― sọ che traṭh hiś. / su chu traṭh hyuv. ― She is like lightning. / He is like lightning. (A way of praising)
- यथ क्याह त्रठ पॆयि? ― yath kyāh traṭh peyi? ― What happened to this? (literally, “What lightning struck this?”)
- c. 14th century, Lalleshwari, Lal-Vakhs:
- च़ालुन छु वुज़ॖमलॖ तॖ त्रटय
च़ालुन छु मन्दिनॆन गटॖकार।- ċāluna chu wuzụmalụ tụ traṭay
ċāluna chu mandinena gaṭụkāra. - Thunder and lightning must be endured. Even utter darkness in the middle of the day must be endured.
