[edit]Borrowed from Classical Persian طاقت (tāqat, “stamina, endurance”), from Arabic طَاقَة (ṭāqa). Compare Gujarati તાકત (tākat), Kannada ತಾಕತ್ತು (tākattu), Marathi ताकद (tākad), Punjabi ਤਾਕਤ (tākat) / طاقت (t̤āqt).
