[edit]Inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀥𑀺𑀝𑁆𑀞 (dhiṭṭha), from Sanskrit धृष्ट (dhṛṣṭa), from Proto-Indo-Aryan *dʰr̥ṣṭás, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *dʰr̥štás, from Proto-Indo-European *dʰr̥s-tós. Doublet of धृष्ट (dhŕṣṭ). Cognate with Punjabi ਢੀਠ (ḍhīṭh), Nepali ढिटो (ḍhiṭo), Gujarati ધીટ (dhīṭ), Bengali ঢিট (ḍhiṭ), Marathi धीट (dhīṭ).
