Borrowed from Classical Persian کارزار (kārzār, battle, battlefield), from Middle Persian k’lyc’l (kārzār, battle, battlefield), ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *ker- (army). Doublet of कारवाँ (kārvā̃) > Persian کاروان (kārwān), from same Proto-Indo-European root.
