[edit]Semi-learned borrowing from Sanskrit कक्ष्या (kakṣyā) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀓- (-ka-), through Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀓𑀘𑁆𑀙𑀸 (kacchā). Cognate with Bengali কাছা (kacha). Doublet of काछ (kāch), which is inherited.
