[edit]Inherited from Ashokan Prakrit *𑀆𑀘𑁆𑀙𑀫𑁆𑀪 (*ācchambha). Turner suggests a relation to Sanskrit आस्कभ्नाति (āskabhnāti, “to firmly fix”). Cognate with Marathi अचंबा (acambā).
