Etymology
[edit]From Proto-Indo-Aryan *Hanśúṣ, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *Hanćúš, possibly from the BMAC substrate per Lubotsky. Cognate with Younger Avestan 𐬄𐬯𐬎 (ąsu).
