Etymology
[edit]Calque of Arabic شَرِكَة (šarika), from ܫܲܪܝܼܟܵܐ (šarīkā, “sharer, partner”) + -ܘܬܐ (-uta, the abstract noun ending). Itself borrowed from Arabic شَرِيك (šarīk).
